WHO WE HELP

Vacation Home Owners (Out-of-Province)

You may live in Ontario, Alberta, or the US, but your asset is here in PEI. Distance makes it impossible to check on your property after a severe winter storm or hurricane. We are your local eyes and ears, ensuring your investment doesn't turn into a liability while you aren't here.

Local Homeowners on Vacation

Don't burden friends or neighbors with the responsibility of your biggest asset. Whether you are gone for two weeks or four months, we offer short-term contracts to cover you while you travel.

PROPERTY CHECKS & HOME WATCH

At Jamieson Property Services, we don’t just "drive by" your house. We provide thorough, documented inspections that ensure your home is safe, secure, and compliant with your insurance policy.

WHAT OUR PROPERTY CHECKS INCLUDE:

We customize our checklist to your specific property and insurance requirements, but our standard visit includes:

INTERIOR CHECKS

Plumbing & Heating: Verifying the furnace/heat pump is running and checking for signs of frozen pipes or water leaks.

Security: Physically checking that all windows and entry points are locked and secure.

Systems: Visual inspection of the electrical panel and major appliances.

Pest Monitoring: Checking for signs of rodents or insect intrusion.

EXTERIOR CHECKS

Storm Damage: Post-storm assessments of siding, roof (visual from ground), and fences.

Property Access: Ensuring driveways and walkways are accessible for emergency services.

Lived-In Look: Collecting mail, flyers, and newspapers to deter theft.

REPORTING

Digital Updates: We can email or text you updates after visits.

Emergency Contact: We act as the detailed local keyholder for alarm companies and emergency services.

The "48-Hour Rule" & Your Insurance

THE RISK?

If a pipe bursts or your furnace quits while you are away and no one is checking, your insurance claim could be denied for negligence.

THE SOLUTION!

We provide the consistency and documentation your insurance company demands. We keep a detailed log of every visit, providing you with the proof of diligence you need if a claim ever arises.

Most homeowners are unaware of a critical clause in their home insurance policy...

Many insurance providers require that your home be physically entered and inspected by a competent person every 48 to 72 hours (sometimes daily) during the heating season to maintain full coverage.

Why Choose Us?

DOCUMENTED VISITS

We log dates, times, and conditions for insurance validity.

If we find an issue (e.g., a broken step or a leak), our in-house team of carpenters and maintenance staff can often fix it immediately with your approval—no scrambling to find a contractor from another province.

FLEXIBLE SCHEDULES

Weekly, bi-weekly, or every 48 hours—we build the schedule around your insurance policy.
